Dr. Casteel - Biography

Dr. Casteel graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine in 1990. There she received both a Bachelor of Arts and Medical Doctorate degrees. She completed her general surgery residency at UMKC in 1995 and served as an associate professor of surgery until 1996. She became board certified in general surgery in 1996 and re-certified her boards in 2003.

Dr. Casteel relocated to San Diego in 1996 with her husband and has been in private practice since that time. She maintains hospital privileges at Sharp Memorial Hospital and is the surgical director of its Breast Cancer Center. Dr. Casteel is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons.
